4th of July Celebration Returning to North Branch Park

Fireworks at North Branch Park Credits: Somerset County Park Commission

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission is holding its annual Independence Day Family Festival July 4 at North Branch Park.

The gates will open at 6 p.m.

The Third New Jersey Regiment “Jersey Blues” Revolutionary War Encampment will hold its historical reenactment from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

The event is free, and will also include food and fun.

Park visitors should bring lawn chairs or blankets while they enjoy time in the park before the fireworks. Picnic baskets are allowed, but alcohol is prohibited.

Vehicular traffic exiting the park after the fireworks will be delayed for about 30 minutes to allow pedestrians to cross Milltown Road. In case of inclement weather, fireworks will be held July 5.

Somerset County 4-H Holding Annual Science-sational Day

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County 4-H is holding its annual 4-H Science-sational Day April 14 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ted Blum 4-H Center, on Milltown Road.

The event will be held for kids in grades first through fifth, and is open to 4-H members and non-members.
