To the Editor:
This is an open letter to Sanofi.
I am a resident of Basking Ridge, NJ who has been spending the last two years of my life fighting against the proposed installation of an industrial scale solar power plant in Bedminster that is going to be put on a farm that KDC Solar is renting in Bedminster from the Kirby Family Trust. It has cost me lots in my time and efforts and it dawned on me that while this fight is going on, your company has not said anything about it. So let me tell you I have instructed my doctors and health insurance that I will not accept any medication that is made by your company. That includes in my household the following products: Ambien, Auvi-q, Lantus, Plavix among others I am sure. I will also inform my family, friends, coworkers and neighbors to avoid your products. To know that the neighborhoods in towns surrounding this 34,000 solar panel debacle are against the project and for you not to take a proactive stand to be a good neighbor is unbelievable. I am sure that the Sanofi leadership who work at theBridgewater headquarter’s site have seen the signs and posters protesting the building of the power plant. The silence from you is overwhelming.

I would hope that you will reconsider your alliance with this project. People who have worked and saved their entire lives are sacrificing much fighting this. What once was a safe place for them is now a place which gives them very little joy. The animals who built habitats in that area will be forced out. Children will grow up surrounded by an ugly power plant. The panels have a life expectancy of 20 years and are not recyclable. Is that their legacy? Don't we owe our community more?
Don't you owe it to yourself to be part of this community? What is your legacy going to be? A part of a small close knit community where people care about each other or yet another large corporation who rapes the community going after the profits? We have heard rumors that Sanofi is moving out of this neighborhood completely. If that is true and you are allowing KDC to destroy farmland, woodland, wetlands and critical habitat in a rural residentially zoned neighborhood then we know what the legacy you choose is.
Please think wisely. Please think like a neighbor. Please think not using your wallet
