BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ Each fall, area teens find themselves looking for opportunities where they can best apply their volunteer efforts, whether because they need to fulfill school requirements, want to help others _ or both.
To help local teens discover many of the volunteer opportunities in the area, they are invited to attend the 14th Annual Teen Volunteer Fair at the Bernards Township Library.
The fair, to be attended by many local organizations seeking volunteer help, is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26t in Program Rooms A and B in the lower level of the library. The library is located at 32 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge.
Organizations attending the Teen Volunteer Fair are scheduled to include Susan G. Komen of North Jersey; the Fellowship Village iPad Club; Matheny Medical & Educational Center from Peapack-Gladsone, Room to Read, the Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce, Mane Stream, Friends of Lord Stirling Stable, and more.
The local organizations's representatives can answer questions and provide information on a wide variety of volunteer opportunities.
Teens from Ridge High School and other area schools
The event is open to all teens from any school in the area that are looking to fulfill community service hours, explore possible career paths, or make a difference in their community. Adults and other family members are welcome to attend as well.
This event is presented by Bernards Township Health Department and Municipal Alliance, and the Bernards Township Library. If you would like your organization to be included in the Fair or if you have any questions, please contact Kaitlin Cartoccio, Community Program Coordinator at (908) 204-2523, or email at KCartoccio@bernards.org.
