GLEN GARDNER, NJ - Bernards scored six runs in the fifth inning and the Mountaineers' baseball team went on to an 8-2 victory over Voorhees on Tuesday.

Bernards' six-run outburst gave the Somerset County squad an 8-1 lead. Those runs were more than enough for winning pitcher Daniel Ball, who needed exactly 100 pitches to dispatch of Voorhees in a route-going effort. Ball pitched a five-hitter, struck out five and walked three.

Ball was also one of three batters for Bernards (5-3) to collect two hits. Nick Booher and Robbie Holmes also had a pair of knocks against Voorhees (6-2).
