Baseball: Bernards Blanks Dunellen, 10-0


BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - The Bernards baseball team got a big-time all-around performance from Phil Mahlik en route to a 10-0 victory over Dunellen on Saturday.
Mahlik pitched a one-hitter, delivered three hits at the plate and scored three runs for Bernards (4-3), which scored eight runs in the third inning to take a 9-0 lead. Mahlik struck out two batters and walked one in the five-inning contest.
Nick Booher's RBI double in his first varsity game highlighted a Mountaineer attack that also featured Timmy Lallis' 2 hits, a run scored, and an RBI; Robbie Holmes' two hits, a double, a run scored, and two RBI; and Dan Ball with two hits, a run scored, and an RBI.

Franklin Township: Township Clerk Reinstated and Charges Dismissed

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Insurance fraud charges against Franklin Township Clerk Ann Marie McCarthy have been dropped, according to officials. 

"Ann Marie McCarthy has been reinstated," Township Manager Bob Vornlocker said in an email. "All charges filed by the Somerset County Prosecutor have been unconditionally administratively dismissed."
