BERNARDSVILLE NJ - The Bernards High School Athletic Department has announced that Mountaineer football star Sebastian Sanchez has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Pennsylvania beginning with the  2016 season.

Sanchez is six feet tall and weighs 205 pounds.  He played both offense and defense for the Mountaineers.  On offense, he played running back.  On defense, he played outside linebacker.  On special teams, he also returned kickoffs on occasion.

During a three-year varsity career, Sanchez gained a total of 2,725 rushing yards and scored 24 career rushing touchdowns.  During his career he averaged 8.5 yards each time he carried the ball.  Sanchez racked up nine games in which he gained over 100 yards on the ground, and exceeded 1,000 yards rushing both his junior and senior seasons.

Sanchez gained another 678 receiving yards and scored four touchdowns catching the ball during his career.  He scored 174 total points over his career.

On the defensive side of the ball, Sanchez made 87 solo tackles and assisted in 229 other tackles during his varsity career, and sacked the quarterback 7.5 times.
