Bernards Twp. Road Construction Projects Coming Up Fri., Sat., and Next Week

BERNARDS TWP., NJ - Bernards Township has announced that construction will continue on Gerard Avenue, and begin on Meeker Road on Friday, Aug. 4, with both projects to require caution from drivers.

Two other scheduled road projects - along North Finley Avenue and on Canterbury Way - will result in road closures this Saturday and beyond, according to information from the township.

Roadwork on a continuing project on Gerard Avenue is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. this Friday, with work to take place on the west side of the road (even house numbers).

Gerard Avenue residents were asked to make alternate parking arrangements. Access may be retricted to driveways with white paint marks on the sidewalk and/or street, according to the township.

Additionally, stormwater infrastructure repairs are also due to start from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday on Meeker Road tomorrow. Further notices will follow on both Gerard Avenue and Meeker Road.  Drivers should exercise caution while travelling through these areas, the township said.

North Finley Avenue to close next few Saturdays

North Finley Avenue from Oak Street to Route 202 will be closed for the next few Saturdays to through-traffic due to a planned water main replacement project in Bernardsville, Bernards Township also announced.

North Finley will be closed in that area from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays through mid-August, according to the township.

Canterbury Way also to the closed for milling and paving

Canterbury Way is also due to be closed to through-traffic for milling and paving from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week of Aug. 7 to 11, the township said. A detour will be in place. Motorists are asked to follow all posted signs.
