BERNARDSVILLE, NJ -- The Downtown Redevelopment Committee's plan for improvements in the borough include consideration of a private commuting services company that would provide direct busing to New York City.
The borough has approached Boxcar, a Chatham-based integrated commuting firm, with the idea of adding a luxury commuter bus route directly to Manhattan as an alternative to taking the train from the downtown Bernardsville station.
Boxcar already offers luxury commuter buses from several New Jersey municipalities directly to Midtown, with stops on both the East and West sides, eliminating the need for a subway ride for many of its riders.
Boxcar is requesting that prospective Bernardsville commuters fill out a survey to give the company their input on the matter.
The survey can be accessed by clicking here.
Boxcar Luxury Motor Coach buses have Manhattan drop-off locations at 42nd St. and 8th Ave., 42nd St. and 6th Ave. (Bryant Park), 43rd St. and Madison Ave. (Grand Central Station), 47th St. and Madison Ave., 52nd St. and Madison Ave., and 57th St. and Madison Ave.
The reserved-seating buses have WiFi access, power outlets, air conditioning and bathrooms.
