Field Hockey Advances to the County Finals

The Mounties Field Hockey team continued its tradition of excellence on Saturday by defeating a much larger school in the semi-finals of the county tournament.  Second seeded BHS advanced to the SCIAA tournament finals with a convincing 4-1 victory over third seed Hillsborough.  Lily Simon scored two goals and Cara Travaglini and Rachel Iaione scored one goal each to power the offense.  BHS goalie Sara Whelan stopped three of the four shots that came her way.  

The Mounties will play powerhouse Bridgewater-Raritan (15-2) in the finals.  The matchup will be a re-match of last year's championship game.  BHS enters the game with a record of 9-3-2.

Football:  Simoneau Becomes BHS's Winningest Coach

The BHS Mounties crushed the Bound Brook Crusaders by a score of 35-6.  The Mounties led from wire to wire.  They took a commanding 21-0 lead in the first quarter, whcih they stretched to 35-0 by the end of the half.  The win placed Coach Jon Simoneau at the top of the list in career coaching wins in the history of BHS football.

EDISON, NJ - Lifelong Franklin resident, Assemblyman Joe Danielsen (D-17 Middlesex/Somerset), chairman of the Assembly Oversight, Reform, and Federal Relations Committee will host the first installment of his "Cannabis Listening Tour" at Middlesex Community College this Saturday. 

The hearing is open to the public and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
