BOUND BROOK, NJ - The Bernards boys basketball team lost to a tough opponent Tuesday night, dropping a 44-41 decision to Bound Brook on the road.

Bound Brook (17-5) erased a 32-30 deficit by outscoring the Mountaineers, 14-9, in the final quarter.

Daniel Ball scored nine points and Owen Loughlin finished with eight points for Bernards (18-5). The Mountaineers open play in the state tournament Monday in the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 2 bracket against Lincoln High School at 7 p.m. in Jersey City.
