Boys Lacrosse: Bernards Beats New Providence, 9-4

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - The Bernards boys lacrosse team opened its season with a 9-4 victory over New Providence on Thursday.

Chris Paciej scored two goals and had two assists and Ethan Caldwell scored two goals for the Mountaineers, who outscored New Providence, 3-0, in the third period to extend their lead to 8-2.

Jack Warren scored a goal and assisted on three others for Bernards. Curt Gouldin, Spencer Lyons, Mike Parisi and Mike Tantleff each scored a goal in the victory, as well. JP Heppes of Bernards made 12 saves. The Mountaineers outshot the Pioneers, 21-16.
