SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Bernards played a strong half before highly regarded Scotch Plains-Fanwood took control in the third quarter on its way to a 13-6 victory over the Mountaineers on Tuesday.

Jack Warren, who had one assist, and Ethan Caldwell scored two goals apiece for Bernards (4-2), which trailed, 5-4, after a hard-fought first half. Scotch Plains-Fanwood (6-1) then outscored the Mountaineers, 5-2, in the third quarter and 3-0 in the final period.

Lucas Ritchie and Braden Fitzsimmons each scored two goals for Bernards, which got seven saves from P.J. Chisholm.

Noah Costanzno led SPF with five goals.
