SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ - Somerset County Sheriff Frank Provenzano is warning residents to be aware of scammers who are using the Somerset County Sheriff's Office phone number and impersonating personnel.

Provenzano said in a release that scammers have cloned the Somerset County Sheriff's Office phone number and are using the office's name to get victims to make payments on false warrants.

"The public should know that the sheriff's office always serves warrants in person and will never call for money or personal information," he said in the release.
