County Prosecutor Investigating Late Night Incident on Bernards Mountain

BERNARDSVILLE NJ - The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is investigating an incident that happened overnight on Bernards Mountain in Bernardsville.

Initial reports received by TAP into Somerset Hills at 3:09 a.m. were that emergency personnel had responded to an undisclosed location on Old Wood Road in Bernardsville. According to that initial report, one victim was transported and administered basic life support. It was unknown at the time if the victim was shot.

In response to an inquiry from TAP into Somerset Hills, Capt. Jack Bennett of the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office advised that this in an ongoing investigation.  "Preliminary findings show that there no shots were fired," stated Bennett. "A suspect is in custody. No additional information is being released at this time."
