Craig’s List Ad Leads to Heroin Distribution Arrest

FAIRFIELD, NJ — A joint investigation between the Fairfield Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force led to the arrested of Hoboken resident William Renfro, 51, for possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of heroin within a school zone.

According to police, it was discovered that Renfro, to some extent, covertly advertised heroin sales on Craig’s List with ads entitled “Super Fire Dogfood Dope-$60.” Renfro agreed to meet who were later revealed to be undercover detectives on Feb. 22 in Fairfield for the sole purpose of selling 50 glassine envelopes containing heroin.

Renfro arrived near the Target store in his 2011 Honda at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at which time officers converged on his location.
