FAR HILLS NJ - This is the Far Hills police blotter for the period of June 4 through June 19, 2016.
On 6/8/16 at 1611, Alexis Slade, 31 of Bridgewater, was stopped while traveling on Rte. 287 for using a hand held device. Upon the stop it was discovered that Miss Slade’s driver’s license was suspended for non-payment of a surcharge. She was processed and issued a summons at the scene.
On 6/8/16 at 0931, Michael Simpson, 26 of Morristown, NJ was stopped by Far Hills Police. Upon further investigation his NJ driver’s license was found to be suspended. He was subsequently arrested, processed and issued a summons for suspended driver’s license.
Warrant Arrest/Suspended Driver
On 6/11/16 at 1537, Dana Perotti, 25 of Peapack, was stopped on Peapack Road for driving an unregistered vehicle and having a suspended driver’s license. Upon the stop our officer was informed that there was also an outstanding warrant for Ms. Perotti, out of Sea Isle City, NJ. Ms. Perotti was processed at our headquarters where she was able to post bail and re-schedule a court appearance. She was issued two summonses and released.
On 6/13/16 at 1019, a FH resident contacted the Far Hills Police Department in reference to a suspicious phone call. Resident stated he received a phone call from the number 360-208-0901 indicating that there is a warrant for his arrest. Caller stated he was from the IRS. Resident further added the caller's English was incomprehensible. NFAT.
On 6/16/16 at 0724 the Far Hills Police were requested to respond to the train station by the NJ Transit PD. A deer was struck by a train and needed to be dispatched. Upon arrival, the officer met with NJTPD and was directed to the injured deer. It was severely injured and not able to walk or run. The officer dispatched the animal with his duty weapon without incident. NFAT.
On 6/17/16 at 2301, a Far Hills Police Officer was traveling East on Liberty Corner Road, he observed a red Toyota bearing NJ reg traveling in the West bound lane at a high rate of speed. The Officer estimated the vehicles speed to be approximately 54 mph. The officer then utilized his in car radar and locked in a reading of 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. He then activated his overhead emergency lights and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Liberty Corner Road at Douglas Road. Subsequent to the investigation, the driver, later identified as James Florio 49 of Galloway, NJ, was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant. Florio had an active warrant for $89.00 out of Dennis Twp. Florio was transported to our police headquarters where he was processed, issued a summons for speeding and released on bail.
