Former Bridgewater Councilman Lemma Wins in Peapack-Gladstone

PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE NJ - Former Bridgewater Township Council President Don Lemma won a convincing victory in a three-way race for borough council in Peapack-Gladstone.  One of two Republican nominees, Lemma finished first ahead of incumbent councilmen Jerry Gunning and Bill Simpson.

"Thank you to everyone who supported me and voted for me," said Lemma.  "All the passion surrounding the election shows that we are still divided on some issues, and I am hopeful that I will be able to help the bring the town together and come up with solutions that are fair and balanced and in the best interests of the community of the whole."

The unofficial results were:  Lemma 448, Simpson 371, Gunning 232.  Councilman Bill Simpson won re-election to a second term.

The hearing is open to the public and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
