Girls Basketball: Bernards Romps over South Hunterdon, 61-36

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - The Bernards High School girls basketball team grabbed a 10-point lead after a quarter and went on to a 61-36 victory over South Hunterdon Tuesday night.

Caroline Baratta scored 21 points, came up with six steals, collected four rebounds and handed out four assists for Bernards (8-7), which opened a 37-19 lead by halftime.

Jenna Whalen finished with 14 points and seven rebounds for the Mountaineers, who led by 27 points after three quarters. Jenna McHale totaled seven points and four rebounds, Abby Cawley grabbed five rebounds and passed for four assists, and Claudia Prandoni made three steals in the victory.

Bernards will visit Manville for a 7 p.m. tipoff Thursday.
