Girls Lacrosse: Bernards Ousts West Essex From State Tournament, Heads for Sectional Final

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - The Bernards girls lacrosse team scored seven goals in each half and went on to a 14-7 victory over West Essex in the semifinal round of the Section 2, Group 2 state tournament on Monday.

Elise Cohan scored five goals for Bernards (15-5), which led, 7-4, at halftime. Laurel McHale finished with four goals and one assist for the Mountaineers.

Jenna McHale had three goals and two assists, and Annie Thomas totaled two goals and two assists in the victory. Abby Cawley notched three assists and Ann Gillis assisted on a goal. Anna Tamke made 11 saves.
