SOMERSET HILLS NJ - New Jersey Transit has restored full service to the Gladstone Branch of its Morris and Essex Lines today. Full restoration of service came after two days in which hundreds of commuters went without train service between Summit and Gladstone.
Commuters who travel to the twelve stops on the Gladstone Branch west of Summit learned abruptly at about 7:00 PM on Tuesday that the line was out of service west of Summit. Hundreds of commuters were left to take buses or to find other ways home and to work on Tuesday and Wednesday.
NJ Transit shut down service to repair a wall near the track in the area of Summit.
