BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The Historical Society of Somerset Hills is hosting another session with older residents who have lived in the Somerset Hills area for many years as an opportunity for local residents to learn about their town's history - from those who lived it.

The free event is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Brick Academy at 15 W. Oak St. in Basking Ridge, the headquarters for THSSH.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and talk with Somerset Hills senior citizens in a small intimate setting as they hear local stories from those who lived it.

The two-hour storytelling session will cover topics, places and the untold history of Basking Ridge, Bernardsville and the other Somerset Hills towns.

The THSSH website asks, "Maybe you've only lived in town a few years? Just move here? Or maybe you have questions about what used to be in the area or what it was like? If so, this event is for you!"

Bring old photos and questions

Old photos will be shared along with the discussion. The public is invited to bring any of their own old photos along with questions they might have to the session.

The meeting will be free, but a "pass the hat" donation will be appreciated.

Preregistration is needed to attend. Registration can be made on the Historical Society of the Somerset Hills website.

This will be the historical society's second session, based on the success of a pilot session held in the spring.
