Police Seek Information after Saving Cyclist's Life


PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE NJ - The Peapack-Gladstone Police Department is seeking information about an incident that led to a life-threatening injury to a cyclist on Tiger Hill late this afternoon.  As reported by TAPinto Somerset Hills, the cyclist was rescued by first responders before being evacuated by helicopter.

According to a press release from Chief Gregory Skinner, officers Thomas Scanlon and Adam Caruso responded to the area of 16 Tiger Hill Drive , together with the borough's First Aid Squad and Fire Company at 5:14 PM in response to a cyclist down.  The found a male in his fifties who had fallen off of his bicycle.  The injured man was suffering from severe trauma.

Officers Scanlon and Caruso immediately began life-saving procedures to maintain an airway, according to Skinner.  The patient was transported from the scene to Komline Park to meet the New Jersey State Police Medevac Helicopter.  The patient received further medical treatment from the flight crew and ground based paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson-Barnabas Mobile Health Services, before being transported to Morristown Medical Center.
