BEDMINSTER NJ - The township's most famous part-time resident is returning for an extended stay.  President Donald J. Trump will spend the better part of three weeks at the golf club bearing his hame.  The President's wake carries with it left-leaning protests.

Summer of Resistance

On Saturday, August 5th, activists will protest Donald Trump’s stay in New Jersey with a People’s Motorcade and Rally near his Bedminster golf course.  The rally, organized by the New Jersey Working Families and We the People, NJ-7, will begin at Ten Eyck Park at 9:00 AM, where participants will decorate their cars for motorcade.   The motorcade will proceed past the club, to the group's rally at Clarence Dillon Public Library.

The motorcade is part of sustained “Summer of Resistance” activism organized by New Jersey Working Families Alliance, its affiliates, and partners.

Immigration Reform

While they have not announced a protest in Bedminster, the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice took the visit as an opportunity to announce opposition to the President's immigration reform bill, the RAISE Act.

In a press release, the group announced:  "The New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice and our member organizations strongly oppose President Trump’s proposed Reforming American Immigration for Strong Employment (RAISE) Act. This legislation is a discriminatory policy and an affront to our values as a country built by immigrants."
