BERNARDS TWP., NJ - Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" will be staged at the Bernards Township Library on Monday, July 25, with the free presentation courtesy of The Friends of the Bernards Township Library.
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Next Stage Ensemble, a company of early-career actors will enact the performance, to be followed by a short talkback and question and answer session.
The performance is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. in the library's program rooms.
Shakespeare had the concept of gender bending down to an art form about 500 years ago. "Twelfth Night" explores gender confusion when a girl disguises herself as a man to be near the count she adores - only to be pursued by the woman he loves.
Those who wish to attend are asked to register beforehand on the library website.
