PEAPACK NJ Art enthusiasts who attend Full Circle 2017: Art of Possibility can expect to experience an array of artistic forms and emotions. They’ll see artwork that defies categorization; read and listen to words that inspire; and witness choreographed and dramatic pieces that move the human spirit. The annual arts event, to be held November 4, 2017 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at the Robert Schonhorn Arts Center in Peapack, is a multi-media showcase highlighting the creative accomplishments of artists with disabilities.

The event will also feature a special message from Television Star Micah Fowler.  In addition, talented actors and actresses from Premiere Stages at Kean University will be sharing their acting prowess onstage. A professional equity theatre founded in 2004, Premiere Stages has worked with Arts Access in five previous productions. Producing Artistic Director John J. Wooten was struck by the clients’ creativity.

“At Matheny, I was introduced to a superhero who could convert his wheelchair into a spaceship, a talking fish named Pinky, and a groom who disrupted seven weddings before finally marrying the love of his life,” said Wooten. “These characters were magical people they brought to life through their extremely inventive and compelling plays, many of which continue to resonate with me.”

As the theatre company in residence at Kean University, Premiere Stages presents first-rate productions, educational initiatives, and play development programs for the campus and communities in northern and central New Jersey.

Acting talent abounds at this year’s Full Circle, with Micah Fowler offering words of encouragement to the Arts Access artists. An inspiration to all, he is seen weekly in a popular television sitcom that addresses the unique challenges faced by families of those with cerebral palsy. In his own life, Micah surpasses those challenges and doesn’t allow the disability to deter him from his work as a rising star. His TV debut came at just nine years old when he appeared in an episode of Blue’s Cage. He also took part in the popular children’s show Sesame Street and made his first feature film appearance in Labor Day.

Now in its 24th year, Arts Access gives people with disabilities the tools necessary to create fine art. With the use of specialized systems and methodologies, they have the opportunity to bring their artistic visions to fruition. Assisted by professional artist-facilitators, the artists create paintings, digital art, choreography, plays, poetry, essays, and more. Their efforts will be highlighted at Full Circle.

In addition to this year’s performance on November 4th, attendees can view a multi-media gallery exhibit that includes sculpture, acrylic paintings, munny dolls, and digital art. Local vendors will also provide food tastings and beverages.

Tickets are $55 and are available at http://artsaccessprogram.org/event/full-circle-2017/ or by calling (908) 234-0011 ext. 260. All proceeds will benefit the Arts Access Program.
