Three Dead in Warren Sunday Rampage

WARREN, NJ – Warren Township Police Chief William Keane and Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano confirmed three people were killed today in Warren Township. A tranquil Warren Sunday in August quickly turned tragic as two individuals were shot to death at a Mount Horeb residence. Police have not released any information on the victims other than a male and female were both killed by gunshot wounds.

The alleged assailant then barricaded himself in the home, triggering a day long standoff between police and the gunman. Police announced the suspect died this evening from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The identity of the shooter, and the victims has not been released. Police and County personnel are continuing to conduct their criminal investigation.

Warren Township Police have advised that Mount Bethel Road is open.  Mount Horeb Road between Mount Bethel and King George Roads remains closed.
