BEDMINSTER NJ - This is the Bedminster Police Blotter for the week of February 19-15, 2018 as published by the Bedminster Police Department.
At 0031hrs, Bedminster Police responded to Guttenberg Police and took over custody of Desire Trowell. Trowell, age 34 of Jersey City was arrested on a Bedminster warrants totaling $500.00. Trowell was lodged in Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.
At approximately 1843hrs, while observing traffic on Route 202/206 northbound at the Verizon Switching station, Bedminster Police observed a red Hyundai Elantra drive past with an obstructed front windshield because of a navigation mount as well as several objects hanging from the rear view mirror. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the entrance to AT&T just off of Route 202/206 northbound. Subsequent to the investigation, Alex Brady, age 26 of Whitehall, PA was arrested for 2C:35-10A(4) (possession of marijuana under 50 grams) and 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia). Brady was also issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:3-66 (maintenance of lamps), 39:3-74 (obstruction of windshield), 39:4-126 (failure to give proper signal) and 39:4-49.1 (operation of motor vehicle while in possession of CDS).
At approximately 0104hrs, while observing traffic on Route 202/206 northbound at the Verizon Switching station, Bedminster Police observed a silver Buick LeSabre drive past, the driver failed to signal a proper lane change and had obstructed front windows because of tint. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Route 206 northbound at Somerset Financial Drive. During the motor vehicle stop the driver refused to exit the vehicle and fled the scene in her vehicle. A pursuit was initiated and the vehicle eventually came to a stop in Harding Twp. off of Route 202 after the vehicle jumped a cement curb and went down an embankment into a wet swamp area where it became disabled. Subsequent to the investigation, Amirah Barnes, age 33 of Morristown was arrested for 2C:29-2B (eluding 2nd degree), 2C:35-10A(4) (possession of CDS), 39:4-50 (driving under the influence) and was issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:3-74 (obstruction of windshield), 39:4-126 (failure to give proper signal), 39:4-81A (failure to obey traffic signal), 39:4-96 (reckless driving), 39:4-97 (careless driving), 39:4-50(G)(1) (DWI on school property or within 1000 ft. of school), 39:4-51B (open container of alcohol), 39:4-49.1 (operation of motor vehicle while in possession of CDS), and 39:4-88 (traffic on marked lanes). Barnes was lodged in Somerset County Jail.
At approximately 0400hrs, Bedminster Police took over custody of Justin Rey from New Jersey State Police. Justin Rey, age 28 of Paterson was arrested on a warrant out of Bedminster for $550.00. Rey was lodged in Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.
