WARREN, NJ - Parents can rest easy. Authorities have determined that no foul play occurred in the attempted luring of a Warren Middle School student reported last week.

"It has been determined that the individual involved intended no harm. It is with the utmost confidence that the Warren Township Police Department has closed this investigation," Warren Township Police Chief William Keane said in an announcement released on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Police received a report Thursday, Feb. 4  that someone had approached a Warren Middle School student at a bus stop. Warren police detectives, in conjunction with community and school officials, have located and identified the individual involved.

"The individual believed his own child missed the school bus and was driving to another bus stop in order to catch the bus. At this point the individual stopped and spoke with a student, who was waiting for the same school bus, in an attempt to locate it," according to the statement from Warren Police.

Chief Keane thanked community and school officials for helping with this investigation.
