What events of history and what kinds of music has the Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead possibly been a witness to?

In this new concert, sampling music from 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries Anne and Ridley Enslow attempt to answer these questions through song.  This is a one hour show with the Enslows appearing in historical costumes with Ridley playing the violin and Anne playing the hammered dulcimer. They both sing--individually, in harmony.

Before each song, Anne will give a brief but interesting description of the piece and its historical context. Drinking songs, love songs, military recruiting songs, songs of liberty--these are some of the themes they will strike. The audience will also see how musical styles evolved over time, becoming less formal, less classical, and more rhythmic. Anne will switch from hammered dulcimer to the more driving sound of the mountain dulcimer in the second half of the show, and there will be one song with foot rhythms, too. They will also bring along their little wooden dancing man called the "limberjack" that appeals to all ages from 9 to 90. This is a varied and interesting presentation for all ages.
