BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ Both beginners and more experienced line dancers are invited this Saturday night to learn the steps, stomp their feet, and kick up their heels at an evening of line dancing in the English barn at the township-owned Farmstead Arts.
The event is scheduled for 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. A reprise of "Have Barn _ Will Line Dance" also is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24, as part of the line-up for special summer events in the English barn on the historic property at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge.
The line dancing event is designed to be fun for all ages, and will be presented with live DJs _ Randy Jenkins and Scott Tracy (formally of the Colorado Café).
The first half hour will be dedicated to lessons. The DJs will cover the basics of this easy-to-pick-up style.
Light refreshments are included. No alcohol is permitted, and the barn is a smoke-free environment.
General admission is $20, with two or three tickets costing $18 each.
Friends/family packs for parties of four-plus are available for $15 each attendee.
Tickets can be purchased online. Cash only will be accepted at the door.
Other events scheduled at the English barn
Other events scheduled this summer at the English barn include Klezmer Tanz, on 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, an afternoon of upbeat and lively Jewish folk music. Attendees can learn the figures, steps and styling of traditional and contemporary Yiddish dance.
Sit Down for Stand-Up Comedy, an evening of comedy and dessert in the English barn, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.
