BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - Sharon Marcowitz, owner of The Rebecca Collection in Bernardsville, spent the past three months finding a way to pivot her retail business as she anxiously awaited permission to reopen following COVID-19 closures. “We’ve been counting down the days,” she said.

“The last three months have been emotional and trying times for everyone. We feel this reopening is the next chapter for The Rebecca Collection.  The shutdown has forced us to think of new ways to expand, and we have amazing new things on the horizon,” said Marcowitz.  “I know that if you asked me three months ago where I would be today, I honestly don’t know how I would answer that question. We had to turn around our business within 24 hours.  My daughter worked remotely taking orders and I stayed in the store every day.  I sent pictures and Facetimed with our customers and delivered all the gifts at no charge, we shipped gifts as well. I’m exhausted! Every gift that left our store these last three months had extra love attached to it.”

The Rebecca Collection specializes in unique gift items for women, men and children.  Items include jewelry, apparel, decor, candles, personalized and customized gift items, accessories, and so much more. They even offer pre-made pampering gift boxes.  The Rebecca Collection literally has something for everyone.

Marcowitz and her staff diligently prepared the retail store to welcome back customers.  “We have sanitized everything and did a major facelift! Of course, we will continue to sanitize daily, especially after every customer to ensure the safety of both our staff and our customers,” said Marcowitz.  The Rebecca Collection has installed 6-foot social distancing decals and if the staff feels that there are too many people in the store, they will kindly ask for shoppers to wait outside.  They have created multiple sanitizing stations and have gloves and face masks available to any customer that may need them while shopping at the location.

While Marcowitz is anxious to open her doors again to the public, she understands that many customers may still have reservations about coming back out to shop at the store so quickly after the ‘stay at home’ orders have been lifted. “We will still be offering sales through our social media platforms, curbside pickup, local delivery and shipping nationwide. We are only a phone call away and invite you to call us for your gift giving needs or personal needs. We will take pictures, or FaceTime with you to make you feel comfortable in your own home. It is our pleasure to accommodate all of our customers. We are so grateful for all of our customers and are blessed to have them in our lives,” said Marcowitz.

“We encourage everyone to shop locally. We need it more now than ever,” said Marcowitz.
