BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — The school search platform Niche.com this week published its 2021 ranking of Best Public High Schools, and Bernards High School scored high in Somerset County's ratings.

Bernards High School was rated No. 4 among public schools in Somerset County and ninth among all Somerset County high schools.  

Bernards has 859 students in grades 9-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 13:1. It has a 93 percent graduation rate and an average SAT score of 1,280 among its students.

Niche.com gave Bernards an overall grade of A+, and an A+ for college prep. Niche gave Bernards an A for academics, sports and health & safety, and an A- for teachers.

Niche.com says it ranks schools based on a “rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data and ratings collected from millions of Niche users.”

Pingry was the top-ranked school in Somerset County. Montgomery was the top-ranked public high school in the county.
