SOMERSET HILLS AREA, NJ -- Several local residents from Bernardsville, Bedminster, Far Hills and Peapack and Gladstone received degrees after virtual graduation ceremonies at the University of Scranton and Bucknell University.

Students at Scranton earning undergraduate degrees included Brian Hildebrandt of Bernardsville, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice, and Emma Holmes of Bernardsville, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.

Sarah Finn of Peapack was among the more than 600 master's and doctoral degree candidates at The University of Scranton whose degrees were conferred at a virtual celebration ceremony on May 30. Degrees were conferred to graduates in a group who had completed their academic degree requirements in August and December 2019, as well as January and May 2020. A formal commencement ceremony, at which graduates will be individually recognized, will take place on Oct. 25 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, Wilkes-Barre.

Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2019-20 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition. The following students have achieved dean's list status:
