BERNARDSVILLE, NJ -- The Bernardsville Borough Council voted at a special meeting Monday morning to extend the delinquency grace period for the May 1 tax payment from May 10 to June 1.

"With so many people unemployed and the long delays in receiving unemployment checks, extending the grace period will give our residents some temporary relief from the impact of this pandemic," Mayor Mary Jane Canose said.

Councilman Jeffrey Hammond added, "If residents have the ability to pay on time, we encourage them to do so, since the borough still has the obligation to pay the school district and the county on time."
