BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — According to the unofficial election results provided by the Somerset County Clerk’s Office, Republicans Chad McQueen and Jena McCredie have been selected to serve on the Borough Council. They will fill the two open seats on the council.

The unofficial results determined that McQueen (1,265 votes) and McCredie (1,256) pulled ahead of Democrats Kerry Haselton (961 votes) and Peter Birnbaum (952 votes) with nearly 57 percent of the 4,435 votes cast.

Republican council members Diane Greenfield and Chris Schmidt have terms that are up at the end of 2019. Neither was running for election this time. Greenfield was selected last December to fill the remainder of the unexpired term of office that had been held by Michael C. Sullivan until he resigned from office late last year. Schmidt has served two terms on the council.
