PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE, NJ -- There still has been no definite date set for the repaving of roads in the borough.
At the July 24 Borough Council meeting, Councilman Royal Smith expressed his disappointment that no date was set yet, but said "it looks like it will take place in the third or fourth week of August."
Before paving can be completed, however, the curbing on Brookside Avenue must be remediated, according to Smith, who said the curbing has sunk. Smith reported that attempts to get feedback from Somerset County on the traffic issues has not yet been met with a response.
Smith had inquired with the county about the crosswalk on Main Street in front of CocoLuxe Pastries and issues with increased traffic in the downtown area, but has not received any feedback yet.
