BERNARDSVILLE, NJ -- The Bernards High School wrestling team is off to a 6-1 start this season with several individual standouts.

Senior James Kessler, who has wrestled at both 126 and 132 pounds, is 6-1 with three wins by pin. He reached the semifinal round at 126 pounds in the Somerset County Tournament.

Sean Hunnewell is 5-1 at 120 pounds with four pins and a major decision. He reached the 120-pound semifinals in the Somerset County Tournament.

Sophomore Brady Walsh, at 170 pounds, is 6-1 with four pins. Tyler Austin finished in third place at 132 pounds in the Somerset County Tournament.

Colin Walsh, at 182 pounds, has four victories. Against powerful Warren Hills, Walsh was one of only two Bernards wrestlers to record a victory, decisioning Brandon Riggs by a 3-0 score.

Jack Elliot has wrestled at both 195 pounds and 220. He is 3-1 on the mat, and 6-1 including forfeit victories. His only loss was in the 220-pound semifinal round of the Somerset County Tournament.

Freshman Pablo Britez, at 285 pounds, is 3-1 with a pin, and three victories by forfeit

Tyler Diamond has wrestled at both 152 pounds and 160. At 152 pounds, he is 3-2. He reached the 152-pound semifinals at the Somerset County Tournament.

Bernards placed eighth as a team in the Somerset County Tournament on Jan. 11.
