BERNARDSVILLE, NJ -- The Bernards boys basketball team erupted for 49 points in the first half and went on to a 68-38 victory over Belvidere Thursday night.

Forward Elliot Dietrich scored 15 points to lead the Mountaineers (10-8), who broke to a 20-7 lead after one quarter and led, 49-19, at halftime.

James Vandenherik finished with 10 points, Chris Cody scored nine and Andrew Holmes netted eight points for Bernards, which finished with 27 field goals. The Mountaineers received points from 10 different players on the roster.
