BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — While the NJSIAA currently is still planning to proceed with a delayed start to the fall sports season, there will be no Somerset County Tournaments in any fall sports in 2020.
According to a story in NJ.com Wednesday, athletic directors in Somerset County convened virtually and decided to forego county championship tournaments for boys and girls soccer, field hockey, girls volleyball and track and field.
The season, which normally would get under way right after Labor Day, has instead been pushed back and will not begin until the beginning of October this season, a decision the NJSIAA made earlier this summer.

The Bernards boys soccer team reached the county tournament final last fall. The team went on to won the NJSIAA Group 2 championship. If and how state tournaments will be contested in the fall is still undetermined.
