PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ -- Bernards scored three goals in the first two periods and went on to a 4-1 ice hockey victory over Edison on Friday.
Goals by Nick Emmons and Alejo Woelper during a span of less than one minute late in the first period gave Bernards a 2-0 lead. The Mountaineers extended the lead to 3-0 in the second period on a power play goal by Paul Wendling with assists from Woelper and Tyler Wong.
Bernards again capitalized on the man advantage in the third, when Wong scored on the power play with a helper from Emmons for a 4-0 lead.
Maggie Smith made 18 saves out of 19 shots faced for Bernards.
