SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Wednesday reported a total of 4,752 cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, an increase of 12 overnight, with 489 deaths occurring since the pandemic began in March.
Somerville has a total of 152 COVID-19 cases in that time, with 7 deaths.
The New Jersey Department of Health Wednesday reported a total of 185,938 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 163 days ago, and a total of 14,046 deaths during that time, an increase of 9 overnight.
The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 20,620,304 with 747,990 having died as a result of exposure to the coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Wednesday morning.
The CDC this morning reported 168,253 COVID-19 deaths in the United States, with a total of 5,321,984 cases.
The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 142 Franklin Township residents; 73 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 71 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 36 in North Plainfield; 32 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 14 in Raritan; 14 in Bound Brook; 13 in Warren; 7 in Somerville; 7 in Manville; 6 in Montgomery; 5 in Bedminster; 4 in Bernardsville; 4 in Branchburg; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.
No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
