Deadline Nears for Entries to Somerville Snowstorm Photo Contest

SOMERVILLE, NJ – Time is running out to submit entries to the "Snowstorm Photo Contest" sponsored by the Somerville Business & Professional Association.

The winner will receive $50 from the SBPA.

Tap into Somerville will accept entries through 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28. The winner will be announced on the TAP into Somerville website on Monday, Feb. 1.

Sign Up for E-News

Send your photos to the TAP into Somerville local news website where they will be displayed along with other entries at www.tapinto.net/towns/somerville. The winning entry will also be displayed on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/TapintoSomerville.

Entries must include the name of the photographer, e-mail address, street address and phone number. Information should also be provided as to the location of the photo, and the names of individuals in the photo. All photos must be taken in Somerville only.

All photos must be submitted online using the jpeg format. Send entries to:rhirsch@tapinto.net. Please, one submission/one photo per e-mail address.

Somerset County Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Grace Gurisic, First Woman Freeholder

SOMERVILLE, NJ – Somerset County will fly its flags at half-staff July 12 in memory of Grace A. Gurisic, who served as the county’s first woman freeholder more than half a century ago.

Gurisic passed away June 9; she was 84. Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home in Wayne. A funeral mass will follow at St.
