Happy Birthday, America: Somerset County Hosts July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at North Branch Park

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – The Somerset County Parks Commission invites all county residents to its annual July 4th n Independence Day fireworks display at North Branch Park in Bridgewater.

The fireworks are set to begin at 9:30 p.m.

The July 4th celebration is held free of any charge. North Branch Park gates will open at 6 p.m.. to allow vehicles to enter the park, according to the county park commission.

Visitors should plan to arrive early before the fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m.  Milltown Road will be closed to traffic at approximately 9 p.m., the park commission said.  Heavy vehicular and foot traffic is expected at an event that is well attended each year.

Re-enactors, food will be part of the event
 

The NJ 3rd Regiment Revolutionary War encampment will be on site for the celebration. Food will be available for purchase by those those who attend.

Park visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy time in the park before the Independence Day fireworks begin. Picnic baskets are allowed but alcohol is prohibited. 
 
Milltown Road will remain closed at the conclusion of the fireworks for up to one hour, while local neighborhood pedestrians walk from the park, according to the park commission. Bridgewater Police will be on hand to assist park staff with traffic flow.
