Hillsborough: It's All About Blueberries at Duke Farms Market

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ -The days are at their longest, the summer sun is heating up and the Farm to Table Market at Duke Farms is celebrating the start of the blueberry season in New Jersey.

Open Sunday, June 25 from noon-5 p.m., the market hosts several farmers with freshly-picked produce and fruits.

Mike’s Blueberries, a certified organic blueberry farm from Pemberton, NJ will be at the market to kick off blueberry season.  Chef Josh will be serving up blueberry blinis, AMA gelato will offer Wildberry Gelato topped with fresh blueberries, Simply Sweets by Lauren will stop by with her Earl Grey Blueberry Macarons, and Jams by Kim will have her blueberry jams.

Caldo Hot Sauce partnered with Dogwood Farms to create a special batch of blueberry hot sauce just for this event. Blueberry pairings will be featured throughout the market such as a blueberry dessert with Unionville Vineyard’s Cool Foxy Lady dessert wine.

Win blueberry prizes, participate in a blueberry trivia hunt, or do a blueberry craft with the kids.
 
Also at the market this weekend, the Hillsborough Library will be on hand with information on their summer reading challenge and available library resources.  The library will also be collecting unwanted crayons to be recycled through the Crayon Initiative,http://thecrayoninitiative.org/.

Other vendors will be selling pasture-raised meat, farm fresh eggs and cheese, baked breads and sweets, kombucha and fermented goods, pickles and more.

The Duke Farms open air Farm to Table Market is located in the parking lot adjacent to the Visitors' Center, 1112 Dukes Parkway West, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The market is open weekly on Sundays through October.
