Hundreds of Firefighters Gather in Somerville to Escort Santa Claus in Parade Down Main Street and Side Streets

SOMERVILLE, NJ - Santa Claus will be escorted into town by firefighters from Somerville and fire departments throughout the state at the V annual Nighttime Firefighters’ Parade on Saturday, Dec. 3rd, beginning at 6 p.m. down Main Street.

Joining firefighters will be rescue squads, police departments, Scout groups, civic organizations, churches and schools from across New Jersey. Staging begins at 2 p.m. on Veterans Memorial Drive East, adjacent to the Engine Co. #1, 170 E. Main St.

The parade down Main Street begins at 6 p.m., and will wind its way through side streets in the borough before returning to Engine Co. #1 where hot chocolate will be served and winners will be announced.

Dozens of trophies will be awarded in several categories, and residents who decorate their homes and host parties are also eligible to win prizes.

Complete registration information and list of categories is available online atwww.somervillefd.org.

The trophy list is subject to change by the Somerville Fire Department Holiday Parade Committee.

Event day registration and check-in will be at Engine Co. #1.
