NJBIA CEO Comes to Somerville to Talk Business

SOMERVILLE,  NJ – The Somerset County Employers Legislative Committee will host Michele Siekerka, president of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association at a luncheon Friday, Feb. 23 at Verve Bistro, Bar, & Lounge, 18 East Main St. from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. where she will discuss the  NJBIA blueprint to make New Jersey more affordable and competitive and her expectations regarding Gov. Phil Murphy and the new administration’s efforts to reach these same goals.

The NJBIA’s vision is that New Jersey will reclaim its stature as the Innovation State; the home of economic vitality, business prosperity, workforce skills excellence and a great quality of life so that NJBIA members can grow and sustain.

Prior to her 2014 appointment as president/CEO, Siekerka served as Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and president/CEO of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce.

NJBIA is the nation’s largest employer association representing over 20,000 member companies and 1.1 million employees within the state.

“The new administration in Trenton will certainly have an impact on the state’s affordability and competitiveness,” said Carol Bianchi, co-chair of Somerset ELC. “It will be the task of Michele and other business leaders to make sure that, as a state, we continue to make strides forward in these areas.”

Registration is $30 and includes lunch. A cash bar will be available. Seating is limited and participants are encouraged to register online by Friday, Feb. 16 at http://bit.ly/ELCFEB2018.
