METUCHEN, NJ – When a student becomes a Saint Joseph High School Falcon, they are a part of the flock for life. When times are hard for a member of the SJHS family, the group steps in to help physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
According to school officials, the COVID-19 crisis has become one of those times. Loss of jobs, and other challenges have led to more than 40 calls from current and incoming SJHS families suffering from financial hardships.
Families have lost one, or in some cases all household incomes, affecting families’ ability to keep their sons at SJHS. The school has already distributed $700,000 in Need-Based Financial Assistance to students.
In keeping with their mission to support students not only in their journey through the school but as alumni too, SJHS leadership is calling on the Falcon community to answer the call to help.
The school has set up a special programs to assist SJHS’ young men to reach their dream of graduating as a Falcon by contributing to the COVID-19 Emergency Tuition Grant Program in honor of Brother Ronald Cairns, S.C.
All donations to this fund will go to help families who have been financially impacted by the pandemic. Those interested in a more personal discussion about this important need for families and the school, should email Jack Timko, Assistant to the President, at email@example.com.
