SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Wednesday reported a total of 5,327 cases of the COVID-19 9coronavirus, an increase of 6 cases overnight, with the death toll overnight climbing to 504 since the first case was reported March 8.

Somerville has had a total of 172 COVID-19 cases since March, with 7 deaths.

The New Jersey Department of Health Wednesday reported a total of 205,275 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 212 days ago, and a total of 14,335 deaths during that time, an increase of 9 overnight. There have been 3,613,032 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 34,000,053, including 1,015,120 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Wednesday morning, with 7,420,300 cases in the United States and 211,188 deaths.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 146 Franklin Township residents; 75 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 73 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 37 in North Plainfield; 33 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 15 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 16 in Warren; 7 in Manville; 7 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 3 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
