BRANCHBURG, NJ- Somerville Aluminum, central Jersey’s largest full-service home improvement and remodeling company and a longtime marketing partner of the Somerset Patriots, will proudly host a meet-and-greet for the Somerset Patriots at its Branchburg headquarters on Saturday, Feb, 6 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to meet, get autographs from, and take pictures with Somerset Patriots Manager Emeritus and former New York Yankees pitching legend Sparky Lyle, team mascot Sparkee, and the team’s 2015 Atlantic League Championship Trophy.
Visitors will also enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to win a baseball signed by Sparky Lyle as well as four tickets to a 2016 Patriots game.
Representing the Patriots’ sixth Atlantic League Championship Trophy since the franchise’s establishment in 1998 and its most recent achievement of this prestigious milestone since 2009, the trophy’s presence at Somerville Aluminum is part of an initiative to make it more accessible to fans than ever before.
“Modeled against other professional teams, we decided to take the trophy ‘on tour’ for the first time because there was so much excitement from the community following our fun and record-setting 2015 season,” said Marc Russinoff, Patriots vice president of Public Relations.
“It’s not every day that you have a championship trophy so close to home and we wanted everyone to feel a part of it,” he said.
While the trophy made other appearances following the close of the Patriots’ championship season last fall, its visit to Somerville Aluminum represents its first official tour stop of 2016.
“As a proud supporter of the Somerset Patriots for nine seasons, we applaud the family values and sense of community that the team and the Kalafer family bring to Somerset County,” said Somerville Aluminum Executive Vice President and Co-Owner Gary Shiman, who joined the team’s National Advisory Board last year.
“As a 66-year-old Somerset County-based family-owned business ourselves, we feel extremely lucky to be associated with this team and are thrilled to help celebrate their sixth championship,” he said.
“The Somerset Patriots have been incredibly supportive of Somerville Aluminum and we’re honored to help promote awareness of this outstanding team and its accomplishments.”
“Somerville Aluminum has been a great partner of ours for years and we’re excited that they’ll be launching our new year of trophy appearances with their event on Feb 6,” Russinoff said. “It’s a great way for fans to kick off 2016 and get excited for the new season.”
