SOMERVILLE, NJ  - When he was just 12-years-old, Stephen Wurst of Hillsborough lost his mother, Laurie Parlin, who passed away from breast cancer in August, 2009.

During her 17-month battle with breast cancer, Laurie and her son found comfort in the care they received at the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset (RWJUH) and the generosity of several community organizations.

With help from the Somerset Health Care Foundation, Stephen and his grandmother, Donna Parlin, created “Laurie’s Legacy,” a special memorial fund established in memory of Laurie Parlin.

Funds raised support “Laurie’s Legacy.” Ornaments can be purchased at the boutique located in the lobby of the Steeplechase Cancer Center at 30 Rehill Ave. Ornaments range in style and price from $5 - $100.Cash or checks are acceptable.
