SOMERVILLE, NJ  - When he was just 12-years-old, Stephen Wurst of Hillsborough lost his mother, Laurie Parlin, who passed away from breast cancer in August, 2009.

During her 17-month battle with breast cancer, Laurie and her son found comfort in the care they received at the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset (RWJUH) and the generosity of several community organizations.

With help from the Somerset Health Care Foundation, Stephen and his grandmother, Donna Parlin, created “Laurie’s Legacy,” a special memorial fund established in memory of Laurie Parlin.
